Happy Little Traveller is a TRAVEL WITH KIDS blog for family vacation ideas. Where to go, what to do, how to pack and what to prepare for when you travel with kids. How to be a good parent and still be you, feed your insatiable desire to travel and keep those little wonderful fellows that came to your life happy, too.
Hello. I’m Janika – a wanderluster, marketing and PR specialist, a wife and a mother of two little travellers. I come from Estonia and go everywhere. Mostly I travel with kids.
I have been travelling with children for 7 years. Most of our family travels are custom made. We have been doing road trips and long hauls, one child and two, visited 14 countries with children and counting.
Why Happy Little Traveller?
I discovered it’s wanderlust that keeps me going long before I became a parent and knew I wanted to continue travelling with family. What I didn’t really know was how to pull those too roles together – still keep discovering new places and new cultures but do it so that my kids will be happy, too.
I have searched a lot of information for our family trips. Where to go and what to do so that both parents and the kids feel satisfied while abroad. And the answers are not always there so we have done lots of discovering as a family and that’s fun too, of course.
Working as a marketing and PR-specialist for a travel agency has shown how many fears the new parents are facing, especially when travelling for the first time with kids. Is the baby going to feel all right in the plane? How’s the food abroad? What happens if he gets sick? And so on. I’ve been answering to direct questions from new parents and to some interviews for family oriented magazines and web publications. So I started to write down this “wisdom” that might help other parents who travel with kids.
The family and our 2 Happy Little Travellers
This is our family at our family vacation in Greece – me, my husband Martin, and our 2 happy little travelers. Säde who is 7 has been travelling with us since the age of 5 months. She has flown more that 20 flights, visited 14 countries and she loves it. She’s born to wanderlust – the one who urges us to start planning next trip (all the time, literally) and her suitcase is always packed first. She even lost her first milk teeth while travelling 😉 Pärtel is our 2-year old son who went abroad for the first time at the age of 3 months and has visited several countries since.
I’m happy to see you visiting my blog. Questions asked and feedback given are more than welcome.
Share your own travel experience with kids, too.
